Science and Engineering Research Board A Statutory Body under Department of Science and Technology, Government of India invites online application forms from the young researchers of Indian Origin holding Ph.D. degree in Science or Engineering or M.D or M.S degree in any area of medicine from a recognized University not more than 2 years completion period to provide them financial support for doing research in frontier areas of science and engineering.
Maximum age limit for the National Post Doctoral Fellowship is 35 years during the time of apply whereas age relaxation of 5 (five) years will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged & Women candidates.
Selection & Mode Of Application :
1. A Complete research proposal along with the application duly signed by the suprervisor should be submitted online through the website www.serbonline.in
2. If required, applicants may be called for personal interview by Expert Committee .
How to apply online:
During the time of online apply, candidates are advised to follow the points –
1. Applicants are requested to register first click here to register
2. Applicants are required to fill all the mandatory fields in Profile Detail section under User Profile. which includes Bio-data, Photo, Institute Address etc
3. Details project framework must be submitted like below
- Project Title (max 500 characters)
- Project summary (max 3000 characters)
- Keywords (max 6 words)
- Objectives of project (max 1500 characters)
- Expected output and outcome of the proposal (max 1500 characters)
- Work Methodology and Research plan has to be uploaded in single PDF file not more than 3 pages (max 10 MB).

Details of Support:
The said fellowship is purely a temporary fellowship, and is initially for a period of 2 years. In some genuine exceptional cases, the fellowship may be extended for another year. But there will be no more extension the tenure beyond three years. This fellowship is strictly for purchasing minor equipment, consumables, national travel and contingencies only.
1. Research Grant : Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum
2. Fellowship : Rs. 55,000/- per month (consolidated) and Rs. 35,000/ p.m for candidates who have submitted the thesis but degree not awarded
3. Overheads : Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum
