Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has started an International Fellowship programme for capacity strengthening of  young scientist as well as senior scientists of  India those are employed in a regular position in a recognized Bio-Medical/ Research/ Health Institution. Main objective of the International Fellowships is to building up of a highly skilled pool of bio-medical researchers in all aspects of bio-medical research including basic, applied, epidemiological and clinical sciences etc. Interested candidates must submit a letter of acceptance from the foreign Institute where they propose to work along with concrete project work plan.

Therefore  Indian bio-medical young  and  senior  scientists are invited to apply as early as possible for this International fellowships of the year 2016-17. 

Who can apply :

> A Indian citizen  candidate, who is holding minimum M.D/PhD degree and working  in regular position in a recognized bio-medical/research/health institution in India.
> For Young scientist category, candidates must have at least three years teaching/research experience and below 45 years of age.
> For Senior scientist category, candidates must have at least fifteen years teaching/research experience and below 57 years of age

Other Some Strict Important Points

> Candidates must submit proposals through recommendation by the Head of the parent organization/ institute.
>  Candidates are advised to not send incomplete applications. It will be rejected it is submitted incomplete.
> Candidates will be inform if they are selected by the special selection committee of ICMR

If selected, the fellowship is to be availed before 28^th February, 2017

Financial Support Details : 

For Young Scientist – 

> US$ 3000 per month
> Contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/-
> Return economy class air ticket.

For Senior Scientist – 

> US$ 200 per day. 
> Contingency grant of Rs. 20,000/- 
> Return economy class air ticket.

Duration of Fellowships : 3-6 months for young scientists and 10-15 days for senior scientists with respect to the satisfactory progressive report.

Total Number of Fellowships: Young scientists-12;   Senior scientists-6

Once sanctioned the submitted proposals, candidates must avail the Fellowship on or before       –  28^th February, 2017

Last date of Proposals  Receipt  –  31^st  March, 2016
