Academic affairs section of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has already announced the admission agenda and details of its various courses like  Ph.D., Dual (MTech+PhD) Degree in CSE, Dual [M.S. (Engg.)+PhD] in EEE,   M.Tech., M.Des., M.A (Development Studies) and M.S.(R) in Energy programme for the academic year 2016-2017.

1. M.A. in Development Studies 

Eligibility : A Bachelor’s (10+2+3) degree (Major/Honours)  with a minimum of 50% marks ( 5.5  CPI Format ) for general candidates while minimum 45% marks ( 5.0 CPI Format ) for SC/ST candidates from a recognized University

2.  M.Tech. and M.Design.

Eligibility : A Bachelor’s   degree  with a minimum of 60% marks ( 6.5  CPI Format ) for  General/SC/ST candidates along with valid GATE Score  from a recognized University. 3.  MTech in Theoretical Computer Science

Eligibility  : Candidates either must have

1. Bachelor’s degree in –   Engineering / Technology or  MSc (Computer Science/Information Technology)
2. Or Graduates (AMIETE) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in Computer Science & Engineering
3. Or MCA from a recognized Institution, with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60%  and a valid GATE score in Computer Science :

4. Master of Science by Research in Energy

Eligibility  : Minimum 6.5 or  60% of marks in B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent in any discipline along with a valid GATE score or NET(JRF)/INSPIRE qualified. Or B Tech degrees in any discipline from an IIT with a  CPI 8.0 or above ( here GATE score is not mandatory )

6.  Dual Degree (MTech+PhD)  

Eligibility  :   Dual Degree (MTech+PhD) Programme is offered by the the Department of   Computer  Science and Engineering at IIT Gawahati. Applying Candidates must be belonged from any of the categories mentioned below-   B.E/B.Tech in any discipline other than CSE or IT or equivalent,

1. Non IIT Graduate – a CPI of 7.5 or marks of 70% and a valid GATE score
2. IIT Graduate – a CPI of 8.0
3. IIT Graduate  – a CPI range of 7.0 –  8.0 with  a valid GATE score

7. Dual Degree (MS(Eng.)+PhD)

Eligibility  :   Dual Degree (MS(Eng.)+PhD) Programme is offered by the the Programme for the Department of Electronics  and Electrical Engineering at IIT Gawahati. Applying Candidates must be belonged from any of the categories mentioned below-   B.E/B.Tech in any discipline in Engineering/Technology with a minimum CPI of 7.5 or 70% of marks along with a valid GATE score . If the qualifying BE/BTech degree is from IIT or a Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI), the valid GATE score is exempted provided the minimum CPI is 8.0 or 75% of marks.

This time , additional other two disciplines are subject to include at IIT Gawahati. – One is MTech in Rural Technology and other is PhD in Rural Technology .  

Once these both subjects are approved by the concern authority then the complete admission details will be uploaded to the official website of IIT , Guwahati. Concern candidates are advised to visit regularly IIT, Gauwahati website for latest information about it.
