Interested candidates from  Ph.D. students or any fresh faculty members working in a research institute/university in North-East India in the area of Human Genetics or Epidemiology are requested to enrollment in the North East Winter School on Human Genetics – Techniques & Statistical Analyses  which sessions will be started from 28-30 March 2016 . This Winter School programme is being organized by Indian Statistical Institute & Department of Bioengineering & Technology, GUIST, Gauhati University

This Winter School is being organized in classroom format combination of lectures & computer exercises considering the sessions on following parameters

1. Expand research in North-East India on human disease

2. Identification of important risk factors and interactions among them.

3. Design experiments in Molecular Genetics

4. Perform statistical analyses and draw inferences on genomic risks and associations.

Other Important topics  of The Programme: 

(1) Basic Molecular Genetics and Techniques;

(2) Basic Statistics and Population Genetics;

(3) Genetic Association studies: Statistical methods, hands-on analyses using SPSS and applications to real data
