Online applications  are invited from the students of North East Region  studies in different disciplines at  differenet institutions within the country for receive of Stipends and Book-Grants. This fund is allotted by North Eastern Council Secretariat, Shillong for the students of NE.

Eligibility for NEC Stipend  and Book Grant : 

1. Applying candidates must belong to the North Eastern India Region.
2. Permanent Residential Certificate must be produced countersigned by District Commissioner.

3. Candidates are advised to apply online if they have below mentioned percentage during the qualifying examination for Diploma, Degree and Post Graduate courses. This mentioned percentage is not related to higher secondary ( HS) percentage of PCB/PCM  by any-means. 75%  in PCM/PCB  for General/OBC/MOBC whereas 60% in PCM/PCB  for SC/ST candidates must be obtained during the time of qualifying test of relevant exam .

4. A Non sponsored candidate shall  be eligible to receive the stipend for the 1st year/entry level of the courses of period 2015-16 only. Renewal of stipends is applicable only while submitting of qualifying certificates of last year.

Steps of Apply:  

Interest candidates are requested to visit  www.dteassam.in  (for Assam candidates ) and asked to print-out the  online submission form. Once form is printed then submit it to the Principal/Head of the Institution along with the necessary copy of certificates/testimonials.

The Principal/Head of the Institution must send the documents to The Director of Technical Education, Assam, Kahilipara, Guwahati-781019 on or before 30th November, 2015.
