Applications are invited for Visvesvaraya PhD Fellowships of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India for full time research in the areas of ESDM (Electronics System Design and Manufacturing), IT (Information Technology)/ITES (IT Enable Services) , for the session 2015-16. All candidates must appear for a common entrance test to get Fellowships.

Important Points and Deadlines :
1. Interested and eligible candidates will have to submit Online Applications through the GU website www.gauhati.ac.in
2. Application Fee of Rs. 300.00 through Bank Challan must be deposited at SBI branchs
3. Last date of online application submission is 25th February, 2016
4. Provisionally shortlisted applicants will be put in the GU website on 26th February, 2016
5. Separate admit card/acknowledgement will be issued against provisionally shortlisted applicants for appear into exam.
6. Centralized Written Test will be conducted on 27th February, 2016, from 11 AM to 1 PM
7. Venue for Written Test is GUIST (Gauhati University Institute of Science and Technology) Building.
8. Multiple Choice/Objective type questions will be asked with 2 marks for correct answer, and (-1) (negative one) for wrong answer of total 80 questions. Out of which 50 questions will be from technical departments.
