Research oriented candidates are requested to apply with only one hard copy and one soft copy of the complete application form for avail   SwarnaJayanti Fellowships which  has been already  started  for young scientists with excellent academic track record from India’s fiftieth year of Independence day with the motive to provide special assistance and support to enable them to pursue research in frontier areas of science and technology.

Who can apply for SwarnaJayanti Fellowships :

Candidates having Indian citizenship residing in India or abroad can apply for the fellowship with the eligibility mention below-

  Young Scientists  must possess Ph.D in Science/ Engineering/ Medicine  like Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Engineering Sciences

  Any fellowship should not be availed from any other Scheme of GOI.

 Scientists should have the outstanding contributions in the form of research publications and/ or patents, peer recognition from scientific community, awards etc.

 The scientists from abroad must submit a confirmation letter from Head of the institution at which they wish to pursue research, stating that administrative and basic infrastructural support to facilitate research will be provided.

 The Research institute should also undertake financial and other management responsibilities of the project throughout the five year term in case fellowship is awarded to the scientist.

Selection Procedures for SwarnaJayanti Fellowships :

After receiving of all proposals from candidates, selection core committee will select some selected candidates based on their innovative research project in frontier areas of science and technology. then next selected candidates will invite for the presentation for their project in front of National Core Committee of Experts. An Empowered Committee of Secretaries will make the final selection based on the recommendation of National Core Committee.

Age Eligibility for SwarnaJayanti Fellowships : 

Scientists between 30 to 40 years of age are eligible for SwarnaJayanti Fellowships on December 31, 2015.  Candidates having 40 year of age as on or before 31.12.2015 will not be considered for Fellowships .

Duration :  The duration of the fellowship is maximum five years. Candidates must finish their project within this time frame at all cost.

Fellowships  Amount :  A fellowship of ` 25,000/- per month for five years will be provided to support cover all the requirements for performing the research.

Last Date : The last date for submission of complete applications is April 30th , 2016.
