Since 2008, Department of Science & Technology (DST) under Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) had started a highly intensive programme under Cognitive Science Research Initiative for mainly focus on scientific community challenges on disorders and social issues. Various psychological tools & parameters, early diagnosis & better therapies, intervention technologies and rehabilitation programmes are identified as high priority under the research CSRI initiatives.
Emotions, language, memory, visual perception and cognition, thinking and reasoning, social cognition, decision making, artificial intelligence, computational modelling of cognitive processes, psychology, cognitive development and other important components derive from work in the neurosciences, philosophy, linguistics and anthropology are the few of the names under DST – CSRI to characterize the nature of human knowledge—its forms and content—and how that knowledge is used, processed, and acquired for human mankind.
Main objectives of the CSRI:
Few main goals of the CSRI research programmes are the mentioned below –
a) Mental disorders of psychological, social and neurochemical origin classification
b) Better learning tools and educational paradigms design
c) Cognition based software technologies and devices design and development
