What is sociology ?

Sociology is the systematic and scientific study of human social life. Sociology is the science that deals with social groups: their internal forms or modes of organization, the processes that tends to maintain or change the forms of organization, and the relations between groups. Infact Sociology is the academic study of social behaviour, its origins, development, organisation and institutions

 

Definition of Sociology:

According to August Comte, Sociology concerns itself with the explanation of social phenomena. He defined that Sociology is the science of social phenomena that  “subject to natural and invariable laws, the discovery of which is the object of investigation.”

According to Weber sociology is the interpretative understanding of social action.

According to Durkheim, sociology is the science of social institutions, their genesis and development.
