A one day National Seminar on Poverty, Inequality and Economic Development in India will be organized by the Department of Economics, Dibrugarh University from 29th March,2016 under Special Assistance Programme initiated by UGC. Interested candidates are invited to send their abstract papers stating objectives, brief idea, methodology and possible policy implications of the paper as early as possible.
Who can Apply : Academicians, researchers and policy makers , NGOs those who have been worked extensively in directions like Poverty, Inequality and Economic Development
Proposed sub themes have been listed for the reference of the participants:
(i) Issues relating to the measurement of poverty and inequality
(ii) Poverty, inequality and the role of the government
(iii) Governance Issues and Poverty Alleviation Programmes
(iv) Poverty, Inequality and Development issues of the STs,SCs and other marginalized groups
(v) Rural and Urban divide in poverty and development
(vi) Gender inequality and Development
(vii) Inequality and Economic Development in India with special reference to NE India

1. All abstracts soft copies may be submitted to ppbecodu@gmail.com .
2. The length of the abstract paper is limited to 1000 words.
3. The last date of sending abstract is 28th February, 2016.
4. Venue for the seminar : Conference Hall,Department of Economics, Dibrugarh University
5. Registration fee for participants other than students and researchers is Rs. 1000/ where as Rs 500/ for students/researcher

2. Confirmation of acceptance of the abstract will be sent to the candidates : 10- 03-2016
3. Full paper submission must be done on or before 21-03-2016
