National Seminar  on Debating Religiosity: Logic, Mysticism and Religious Language : Assam University, Silchar

All research scholars are requested to submit proposal for an academic paper, Panel Discussion, Art Performance for National Seminar  on Debating Religiosity: Logic, Mysticism and Religious Language which is continuously 3rd in the series sponsored under UGC-SAP DRS Programme at the location of Department of Philosophy, Assam University, Silchar, India.

However, Organizer is also decided to  opens a debate on the viability of ‘pure’ or ‘practical’ reason on Logic, Mysticism and Religious Language.

 

Three major critical issues for the Seminar under discussion panel : 

1. Interface between logic, mystic experience and religious language
2. Illusory nature of individual self, unreality of the world and epistemic uniqueness of mystic religious experiences
3. Religion in relation to Ethics, morality, environment etc.: with special reference to North-east part of India

> Enworlded Subjectivity and Situated Consciousness
> Religious Language: Assumptions embedded in religious vocabulary on the nature of the Self(Atman), Illusory individual self, Status of the world etc,.
>  Logic and its limitations– Belief, Tradition and Authority
> Advaita Vedanta as both religion and philosophy.
>  Religion in relation to: Ethics, Morality, Environment, Reason, freedom, Suffering, etc.
> With Reference to North-east India: Religiosity, Tribal Religions and Tribal Morality.
> Logic & Mysticism: Islam, Buddhism & Hinduism.
> Logic & Mysticism: Bertrand Russell, Bergson, Tagore, Radhakrishnan, J. N. Mohanty, Gadamer, Richard Rorty ( the list is not exhaustive)
