Mamoni Raisom Goswami was one of the renowned  Assamese editor, poet, professor, scholar and writer of Assam. She was also popularly known as Mamoni Baideo  among the people of India for her contribution in the field of Assamese literature who had  awarded many prestigious awards like Sahitya Academi Award on 1983 & Jnanpith award on 2002. 

Gauhati University invites application forms along with curriculum  vitae from scholars, teachers and other academia candidates having extensive and domain knowledge specially on Assamese Literature, Language & Culture , quality publications like  books, research papers and research projects for Mamoni Raisom Goswami Chair Professor under Department of Assamese, Gauhati University. Applicants must follow  UGC regulations , 2010 during apply for professor.

Other Desirable Education Criteria :

1. Extensive and Expertise knowledge of Modern Indian Knowledge with contemporary Assamese Literature.

2. Expertise in Indology – Bharat Tatva with reference to Ramayana Studies.

3. Previous research  worked on social issues of North East India like Minorities , Women , Gender &  Tribal,  Dialecticalogy and Stylistics.

Few Other Important Points :

1. There will be no interview for selection of the Candidate.  After selection, candidates must do and conduct extensive research work on Mamoni Raisom Goswami works and other Assamese Literature.

2. Candidates must be aged below 60 years.

3. The term for this appointment is only for three years. Payment process under UGC norms.
