C.V. Raman Fellowship for African Researchers programme 2016

C.V. Raman International Fellowship program has been launched under India-Africa Forum Summit by the Govt. of India for work together in science and technology fields between two nations. All fields include natural and engineering sciences, including mathematics and statistics excluding Humanities and behavioral sciences.

C.V. Raman Fellowship for African Researchers programme 2016

Mainly three types of fellowship will be offered to African researchers –

  1. Doctoral/Post-Doctoral
  2. Visiting Fellowship
  3. Senior Fellowship

This fellowship is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India (GoI), through the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

GOI has directed the FICCI to collect all the applications via online/email in English language from African researchers to approve the fellowship for conduct or continue their research works under guidance of reputed scientists of Indian institutions.

Who can apply for C.V. Raman Fellowship 2016:

Candidates must fulfill the below eligible criteria for avail the C.V. Raman Fellowship 2016 –

  1. Permanent citizen of Africa with Indian diplomatic relations
  2. Must be experienced and engaged in research works in African Universities
  3. Existing C.V Raman fellowship holders are not eligible.

Educational Qualification against types of fellowship schemes:

Minimum educational qualification for avail the C. V. Raman Fellowship 2016 with respect to the types of fellowship offered are given below –

Doctoral Pursuing PhD in any recognized university / research institution in Africa 6 Months 40000/-
Post-Doctoral Completed PhD in any recognized university / research institution in Africa 6 Months 40000/-
Visiting Ph.D / M.Tech/M.Sc or with 4 to 6 years of research/ teaching experience 3 Months 50000/-
Senior Senior Experts / Scientists /Professors 1 Month 50000/-

  1. Application letter
  2. Consent letter from Indian Scientist / Institution
  3. Recommendation letter from candidates own Institution / Employer
  4. Detailed research plan
  5. Educational qualification
  6. Passport
  7. CV – research work / experience

Important Dates:

Last date of application form submission: 30-09-2016
Declaration of Results: Feb/March 2017
Fellowship will be availed by selected candidates from April 2017 to March 2018
