Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh is organizing a National level examination – ICMR JRF 2016 for determining the eligibility of Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) through Indian Council of Medical Research which will be held on July 17th 2016.

A total of 150 awards of Junior Research Fellowships where Life Sciences ( 120 Seats )  and Social Sciences ( 30 Seats ) will be  permitted to enroll themselves into various placement options at various medical colleges / hospitals / universities / national laboratory / institution of higher learning and research and Ph.D. programme of any University recognized by the UGC/MCI.  The validity of fellowship for PhD Programme will be awarded to a candidate will be six months.

Another two years for placement in ICMR funded projects will be also applicable under various schemes sponsored by ICMR for selected candidates.

Educational Qualification:

Qualified  M.Sc./M.A. or equivalent degree  candidates are having with minimum 55% marks and below 28 years for General/OBC and 50% marks with below 33 years SC/ST & physically handicapped in various disciplines like microbiology, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, human biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, biophysics, immunology, pharmacology, zoology, botany, environmental sciences and veterinary sciences, psychology, sociology, home science, statistics anthropology, social work and health economics become eligible for appearing into the ICMR-JRF 2016 exam.

Those are appearing M.Sc./M.A. or equivalent degree, they must submit qualified mark sheet to ICMR, latest by 30th September, 2016 otherwise candidature will automatically be forfeited.

How to Apply :

Interested candidates are requested to apply online through PGIMER, Chandigarh official website www.pgimer.edu.in or ICMR New Delhi official website icmr.nic.in. No other means /mode of application will be accepted.

1. Candidates must obtain one Email ID/ One Scanned Photograph with below 50kb size and One Scanned Signature with 50kb size.

2. Visit the link to open registration form for apply for ICMR – JRF 2016 . Please : Click Here to go the online link.

3. Photograph MUST be snapped on or after April 1, 2016. Candidate Name and Date of photograph will be printed or written on the bottom of Photograph.

4. Candidates must fill up the form as per their subject/stream and location.

5. Complete and submit the form .

6. Then print out the registration form and save the bank challan. Please deposit the fees SC/ST/PH as Rs. 800 and for  other categories Rs. 1,000/-
