All MPhil aspirants of Geography , who have applied for admission in Gauhati University , are informed to appear an competitive entrance exam at  Department of Geography, GU.

Exam Details : 

The authority is decided to take the entrance test of total 100 marks . Three categories questioned will be asked in the said exam. They are as follow

1  Long type (50 marks),
2  Short type (30 marks) and
3.  Objective type (20 marks

Details of course content :

Basically PG standard In Geography Course Content will be asked in the entrance test

Unit 1: Geography: Its fields of study, contemporary trend and importance
Unit 2: Quantification in Geography
Unit 3: Cartographic Techniques and Geoinformatics in Geography
Unit 4: Research Methodology in Geography (as per PG Course of GU)
Unit 5: Important research areas in Geography in N. E. India
