Department of Higher Education, MHRD has decided to include few interesting modifications for Joint Entrance Examination ( JEE ) 2017. After getting various complains from the appearing candidates as well as from their parents on removable of 12th standard qualifying marks for calculating a rank in JEE 2017 Main Examination, MHRD has finally approved the following modifications for upcoming JEE 2017 .
- Ranks in JEE Main Examination will be calculated without considering the 12th standard qualify marks obtained by the candidates
- For admission into centrally funded technical institutes like IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs , candidates belonging to Open category must obtain minimum 75% in 12th Standard qualified examination .
- For admission into centrally funded technical institutes like IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs , candidates belonging to Reserved category must secure 65% in 12th Standard qualified examination .
- For admission into centrally funded technical institutes like IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs , candidates belonging to Open/Reserved category must obtain in Top 20 positions in 12th Standard qualified examination of their respective boards
Director (IITs), MHRD has also notified that other admission criteria for JEE Preliminary and Main Examination will be same as earlier prior to any modifications in near future. Any changes in JEE 2017 will be also notified to the candidates through the official website of MHRD. Therefore candidates are advised to visit periodically the official website of MHRD for fresh changes in JEE 2017 Examination.
