When JEE Exam pattern has been decided to change then MHRD has appointed a committee headed by Prof. Ashok Misra to recommend some important points on pattern of JEE examination. When Ashok Misra Committee has submitted the final draft to MRHD on 5th November, 2015 then MHRD, New Delhi has finalized the final report of Ashok Misra Committee. Ministry of Human Resource Development has notified and recommended the following changes in the JEE pattern and also decided to adopt the policy from 2017 onwards.
The recommendation are given below for the reference of the candidates to qualify and eligibility in the JEE Examination
1. 12th standard students are requested to appear the 12th Board exam very effectively because the performance in the 12th Class Examination will become a very crucial parameter.
2. Candidates must be secured at least 75% marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th Class Examination conducted by their 12th respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates, percentile is reduced to 65% marks.
3. Existing 40% weightage from the 12th Class marks for calculating the ranks in the JEE Main, will be no longer in used from 2017
4. All other JEE Examination rules and regulations will remain same.
MHRD, New Delhi has also pointed out that this Ashok Misra committee recommendation will give extra entry facility to engineering aspirants to get admission into anywhere Engineering Colleges of India. The adaptation of Ashok Misra Committee recommendation will be started from JEE 2017.
